Teaching aims are:

• Integration of theoretical and clinical knowledge about the causes and pathomechanisms of the inflammatory response
• Health- and life-threatening consequences of severe sepsis, Systemic Inflamatory Response System and Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrom
